Château Lacombe Cadiot
AOC Bordeaux Supérieur

Château Lacombe Cadiot is located several kilometres from Château Tayet in Ludon Médoc and was the fifth and final estate acquired by the De Schepper family in 2004.

Located several kilometres from the Margaux appellation, Ludon Médoc is famous for its internationally-renowned estates including Château La Lagune and Château d’Agassac.

The vineyards of the Médoc estate are situated in a single block opposite the Bec d’Ambés, where the Dordogne and Garonne Rivers meet.

Historical anecdote

According to the archives, Louis XIV, the Sun King, was the most illustrious former estate owner. He praised the quality of the soil at Château Lacombe Cadiot, and enjoyed hunting on the grounds, before handing the estate over to his vassal, Sir Lacombe, who gave his name to the estate.

Château Lacombe Cadiot

Bordeaux Supérieur

A remarkable Bordeaux Supérieur

The combination of winegrowing techniques favouring the natural concentration of the grapes and traditional Médoc winemaking results in a fruity, round, rich wine displaying wonderful freshness.

Following cold pre-fermentation maceration, the wine is kept on the skins for 15 to 30 days in stainless-steel vats. Each operation is carried out according to the vintage and grapes, and all vats are analysed independently.  The methods applied are determined by tasting the grapes and assessing the condition of the vineyards, then tasting the juice.

The wines are aged for 12 months in stainless steel vats

The wine is a deep garnet-red with an attractive, delicate nose, featuring ripe red and black fruit aromas. It is full-bodied on the palate with perfectly balanced ripe tannin and freshness following through in a long aftertaste.

GUIDE HACHETTE 2017
